Do Nigerian Require a Visa to Enter Turkey?
Yes, Nigerian citizens and Nigerian passport holders must acquire a visa to enter Turkey, even if their stay is short. E-Visa is the quickest way to obtain a travel permit to enter Turkey. With an e-Visa, travellers can stay in Turkey for up to one month.
This visa allows them to travel to Turkey for tourism, leisure, holidaying and business purposes. Keep in mind that electronic visas are not offered for long-term stays, such as you cannot receive an e-Visa for education or employment purposes. For such purposes, you need to visit your nearest Turkish embassy and apply for a relevant Turkish visa.

Only diplomatic passport holders do not need to apply for a visa and stay in Turkey for up to 90 days visa-free. All other passport holders will apply for a visa, whether sticker or e-Visa, to gain an entry permit to Turkey. You must possess a visa before travelling to Turkey.

About Turkey e-Visa Application Form
If you are a Nigerian citizen/passport holder, you must possess the following required documents to apply for Turkey e Visa:
- A passport valid for five months, at least after the date of arrival in Turkey.
- A valid residence permit/visa from Schengen country, Ireland, the USA, or the UK.
- A payment card, either credit or debit card, to pay the visa processing fee.
- A valid and active email ID.
How to Fill Out the Application Form?
The electronic visa form begins with a page where you will be asked to select your country of origin and the type of passport. Use a valid passport to fill out this form; otherwise, your application will not be processed.
The passport type is critical to select as it helps in determining the visa cost. As mentioned above, diplomatic passport holders are exempt from visa requirements for up to 90 days. Select between services, special, Nansen, travel document, ordinary, identity card or Alien's passport.
Next, you will select your arrival date in Turkey. This step helps the immigration authorities determine the visa validity date.
You will have to provide some personal details, including full name, surname, residence, contact number, date of birth, marital status, occupation, and nationality. You need to select Nigeria as your nationality, but if you are a dual national, select the desired country and only use its passport to fill out the next section.
In the next section, you will provide travel and passport data. This includes passport number, country of issuance, expiration date, and travel purpose. You will also mention whether you need a single-entry visa or multiple entries. With an e-Visa, you can enter Turkish territory only once as it is a single-entry travel permit.
Provide details of your trip to Turkey, including the proof of accommodation booking, such as hotel reservation or address of a relative/sponsor, return ticket details, and proof of sufficient funds. You can provide a bank statement or other document to prove you can afford your stay in Turkey, and your provided documents must indicate that you can spend a minimum of $50 per day.
After all the necessary details have been provided, you will have to pay the Turkish visa fees. You can use your MasterCard or Visa debit/credit card or PayPal account to complete the transaction.
Once this is done, you will submit a copy of your recent passport size photo, digital scan of your passport's biography page, and other support documents if needed, such as a residence permit.
