In 2013, the bilateral relations between Turkey and Cameroon expanded. In the same year, the Cameroonian President meets with the Turkish Government. The former gives special impetus to the cooperation of the agreements between the two countries. Since then, Turkey and Cameroon pursued legal frameworks and partnered with several projects. Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency and Turkiye Scholarships had been a great help to Cameroon. TIKA provides development assistance while the Burslari Education program aims to assist Cameroonian students.
The relationship between Turkey and Cameroon gradually improved over the years. It includes the Turkish E-Visa requirement that travelers from Cameroon have to meet. According to Turkey's classification, Cameroonians are under conditional e-Visa. Hence, the process of getting a travel authorization gets easier under certain conditions. Turkish E-visa Conditions And Requirement For Cameroonians
In 2013, the Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs launched the advanced processing of visa applications. From sticker visa, it transitioned to a new electronic system that would simplify the procedure of getting a travel authorization in Turkey. Turkish Immigration came up with a list of countries that can apply using their commercial website with the following advantages:
- It no longer requires visitation to an Embassy or Consulate.
- Fast turnaround time, unlike the long process of traditional visa application.
- Turkish commercial websites are beginner-friendly.
- Convenient for travelers who do not have enough time to consolidate travel documents and make appointments.
- Travelers can complete the online application anytime at the comfort of their workstation and home.
- Apply three to five days before the intended travel date
Turkish E-Visa is not yet available for all types of visas. The system limits the application for travelers who will go to Turkey for Tourism and business activities. In the meantime, Cameroonians who want to get a permit for employment, education, or permanent residence are not yet available in the portal. Due to strenuous procedure, Turkish Immigration recommends aspiring employees, immigrants, and students to visit the embassy directly for instruction.
Nationalities under the category of Turkey conditional e-Visa have to be a member of the Schengen Area or a resident of the United Kingdom, USA, and Ireland. Electronic permits and visas acquired in these countries are not valid documents.
If Cameroonians get qualified for the given criteria, online applications will be quicker and easier. The system maintains the minimum Turkey Visa requirements needed during the registration. Cameroon travelers must have the following:
- Passport valid for six months (Count of validity starts at the date they enter Turkey)
- Valid and verified email address
- Visa processing fee (Mastercard, Visa, American Express, Discover, JCB, WeChat Pay, iDeal, EPS, PayU, Bancontact, Diner’s Club, UnionPay, and Alipay)
Turkey also required Cameroonians to fly with Ministry of Foreign Affairs' aviation partners limited to the following list:
- Turkish Airlines
- Atlas Global Airlines
- Pegasus Airlines
- Onur Air
Upon arrival in Turkey, incoming foreign nationals have to present supporting documents to border control authorities. Immigration would like to ensure that Cameroonian travelers are financially sufficient through their stay in Turkish borders.
- Proof of Income or financial statement (50USD per day)
- Confirmed Hotel Booking
- Travel insurance
- Certificate of Yellow Fever Vaccine (additional requirement for Cameroon travelers age one and above)
The requirements above are not necessary for the online application. However, it is better to have it on hand to ensure the accuracy of information declared on the form. Cameroonians also have the option to prepare and present it when their travel date comes.
Cameroon travelers must not extend their stay if not necessary. Overstaying in Turkey have underlying consequences such as paying fines and penalty. Worse, travelers may get deported and banned from traveling to Turkey in the future.
If the extension is inevitable, Cameroon travelers can request for Turkey visa extension. They appeal for a temporary resident visa by going to the nearest Police Station in Turkey. Cameroonians may pay additional for this request.
Turkish E-Visa Online Form
Cameroonians must fill out the online form and ensure that all provided information is true and accurate. There is no chance of modification after hitting “Submit.” Supporting documents and passport details should reflect the information disclosed on the online form. If Cameroonian travelers fail to meet the documents above, Immigration may tag the application invalid.
After making the payment, the system will notify if the application gets confirmed. The E-Visa document is in PDF Format that applicants can download and print.
