Apart from the visa free countries, these nationalities require a valid residence permit or visa from the following Schengen area countries or United Kingdom, United States and Ireland. Electronic visas and electronic residence permits are unacceptable for Turkey from these territories.

Turkey Visa Exemption
There are 78 countries in the world, which have a visa exemption and another 42 countries from where you can apply for an e-Visa. The ministry of foreign affairs is responsible for issuing visas for the regulation and facilitation of migration. Like every other country, there is a requirement for all visitors to have a 150 days validity of the passport starting at the date of arrival.
However, this condition is exempt for visitors coming from France, Belgium, Portugal, Switzerland, Luxembourg and Spain. The visitors of these countries can enter Turkey with an expired passport for up to five years. Visitors coming from Germany can enter and stay in Turkey with an expired passport of less than a year. They can also enter with an expired ID card under the same conditions. Citizens of Bulgaria only need their passport to be valid for the duration of their visit to Turkey.
Some citizens are allowed to travel without a passport and only use their ID card as an accepted identity. These citizens belong to the following countries: France, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Belgium, Italy, Greece, Malta, Germany, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Spain, Ukraine, Portugal, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Northern Cyprus.
