Notary Procedures
The laws and regulations of procedures of power of attorney are mentioned in Notary Law No. 1512 and the regulation of the Notary Law. The Power of Attorneys is divided into two as Approval and Regulation, which is according to the 89th article of Notary Law. The following documents can be made with regulations by visiting the representatives in person:
- A person’s will.
- Sale of a property if it is preserved.
- A promise of sale of real estate.
- Deed of foundation.
- Contract of marriage.
- Adoption and recognition of a child.
- Agreement of inheritance and its instalment.
For the procedure to successfully complete, it is mandatory to attach a photograph of the concerned person to other documents so the notary procedures can take place. Documents will vary according to the case in hand along with the process timings of each case. It is highly recommended that the applicant pays great attention to detail when dealing with documentation and cases in hand.

Important Information for the Consulate General of London
According to the Notary Section, only one notary transaction can be made during an appointment. If a citizen wishes to make a notary document, the content of the document can be requested through email to [email protected] on the day of the transaction. In the subject line, mentioning the full name of the applicant is sufficient.
During the appointment, it is important to have the original Turkish ID card present for the notary transaction to take place. Usually, the fee of the notary document will range from £15-20 depending on the length of the document. The fee amount is only acceptable in cash and no debit or credit cards can be charged.

Those British citizens who do not have a Turkish ID, are asked to provide a detailed Birth certificate that also mentioned the name of the mother and the father along with the original passport. These documents also need to be translated by one of the consulate’s sworn translators. Both the documents can be translated into the Turkish language by one of the recognized translators of the Consulate General.
Documents Required During In-Person Application
The following documents will be required during a Notary procedure application:
- Original Turkish ID card of the applicant with two double-sided copies.
- If the applicant gives up his or her Turkish citizenship with permission to acquire the nationality of another country, the Pink or Blur Card will also be needed. This is used for the power of attorney at the Consulate General.
- The full name, date of birth, father’s name and TR identity number. The attorney is the name of the bar association from which the attorney is affiliated.
- Two recent passport size photographs are required for the power of attorney for the issuance of divorce, deeds, sale and purchase of vehicles.
- The title of the deed information in the power of attorney for the procedure of registering land.
- The information of the vehicle that is in question to be sold or purchased.
- Details of bank accounts of the said applicant and the other party.
The foreign representatives can ask for additional information and documents depending on the case at hand. Some cases may need more information if the applicant belongs to another nationality as well.
Power of Attorney Not Being Literate
In case the applicant does not know how to read and write and the power of attorney is illiterate, additional information will be required. Such as:
- Two witnesses who are not direct relatives of the applicant but are Turkish will be required. The witnesses need to be present at the time of the Notary procedure with their original ID cards.
- A sworn translator of the consulate general will be required to be present in case the applicant or the power of attorney does not speak the Turkish language.
