The Electronic Visa i.e. the e-visa in Turkey was established by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey on 17th April 2013. Due to this system, the process of getting a visa to travel to Turkey has been made a lot easier to obtain. You do not need to rush from offices to offices anymore. Rather, you can get your visa processed within only a few minutes. The validity of an E-Vise depends on the purpose of travel. If you want to travel for tours or commerce, getting an E-Visa should be really easy. But for purposes other than that, i.e, study, work, official purpose, you have to get a regular Visa from the Turkey embassy or consulate.

According to the statements mentioned in Visa Information For Foreigners Rep. of Turkey Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Turkish Republic is making efforts to improvise their E-VIsa system by-

  • adding English, French, Spanish, Dutch, Norwegian, Polish, German, Arabic and Chinese language options in their Visa system.
  • adding more payment methods that are commonly used by a wide range of people.

There are some protocols regarding citizens who are allowed to enter the Turkish territory. They might be sectioned into two groups-

  • Citizens who are allowed to enter without a visa
  • Citizens who need a visa to enter
